On August 8, 2017, shortly before closing time, Officers responded to an Armed Robbery at the Gordmans store located in the 7000 block of West Central. The employees at the store reported a black male, (see below photo) demanded money, then shot at the employees at least twice. One of the employees was grazed by a bullet, causing redness to the skin and clothing damage.

The suspect fled the store on foot and shot at least three more times in the parking lot. A second black male also fled the store with an armful of stolen clothing.

The first suspect is described as being in this 20’s, black male, light complexion, wearing a black jacket over a red shirt with white lettering, tan or khaki shorts, red shoes, a white Adidas brand ball cap, a red backpack, and being armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male also in his 20’s, long ponytail with a red dyed streak wearing yellow t-shirt with cut off sleeves with “I bike ICT” logo, black shorts, and black shoes.

Early Sunday morning, July 16th, 2017 an unknown intruder entered the home of Arthur Goebel (pictured) and his wife at the Lamplighter Mobil Home Park in the 2300 block of E. MacArthur. Arthur apparently heard the intruder and briefly confronted him. The intruder shot Arthur twice and immediately fled the home. Arthur died of his injuries shortly after arriving at a local hospital. The intruder is described as a medium sized male in height and weight.
Art was a veteran of the Vietnam War a devoted father and grandfather and a valued member of his community and church.

About 9:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, a man went into the Discount Cigarette and Food Shop in the 2100 block of S. Broadway and purchased some items. Then he began to harass another customer. As he walked out, he made comments to the store owner and pointed a gun at him. This incident was very distressing to the owner. The suspect was driving a white Dodge, possibly a Stratus.

About 8 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, Sandra Flores was found dead of a single gunshot wound in the parking lot of a shopping center at 2500 S. Seneca. She may have been shot while walking to or from Starbucks in the same parking lot. It is believed she was shot where she was found.
