About 7:15 p.m. Nov. 4, 2015, the 911 operators received several calls from citizens who reported hearing multiple gunshots in the 800 block of South Broadview. A resident at 843 S. Broadview then reported that his brother had been killed by an unknown person(s). When officers arrived they found the body of 33-year-old Terrance Smith. Numerous firearm shell casings were located in the front yard and driveway. No arrests have been made in connection with murder.

Sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Dec. 13, 2015, someone broke into a home in the area of 127th Street East and 13th Street North. The burglar first tried to enter by prying open a rear door. When that failed, the suspect used a rock to shatter a window and gained entry through another door. Once inside, the burglar rifled through the residence, focusing on high-end jewelry. It is believed the suspect used a pillowcase from the residence to carry out the stolen jewelry. One item of particular interest is a 2-karat diamond ring with an approximate value of $30,000. This unique ring will stand out to anyone familiar with fine jewelry. (See attached photo.) Total loss is estimated at more than $50,000. From Dec. 14 to almost the end of December, 2015, the Wichita Police Department has investigated at least six robberies which they believe were committed by the same suspects. The Dec. 14 incident occurred at an apartment complex at 1157 S. Webb Rd. The victim said he was forced at gunpoint by two men to drive to an ATM in his vehicle and withdraw cash from his account. FIve subsequent incidents occurred in the 10000 block of East Skinner, 1945 N. Rock Rd., the 5600 block of East Shadowridge; and the 9100 block of East Harry. In each of these, suspects forced the victim at gunpoint to drive to an ATM and withraw money. In two of them the victims escaped before being forced to drive to the ATM. The robbers also took cash, phones and other personal property in several of the incidents. Both suspects are described as black men in their 20’s and about 6 feet tall. The first suspect is slender and dark skinned. He possibly has dreadlocks and/or a small mustache. The second suspect is has a medium complexion. During the last two incidents, the first suspect was described as wearing a grey zipped hoodie with a large logo and sweat pants; the second suspect was wearing a dark hoodie.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE # 1550 FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 3, 2015 DEPARTMENT CASE NUMBER: 14C68010 LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. C. CORY, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT
About 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, Nathaniel R. Jackson was found shot to death in a home in the 1500 block of N. Minnesota, after 911 was called. There was some property missing from the residence. There were multiple people hanging out at the home throughout the previous day. Witnesses have indicated several people and one unidentified vehicle were in the area and at the residence around the time of the incident.
