Between 11:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, someone cut the catalytic converter off a 1992 Toyota 4-Runner while it was parked at the Sedgwick County Zoo. As scrap metal crimes and thefts continue to increase in public areas, law enforcement asks citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity. Loss and damage is valued at more than $1,000.

Just before 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, a man rode a bike to the Target store at 301 S. Towne East Mall Dr. He broke the glass on the store's front door and walked directly to the electronics section. There he broke the glass on a display case and took three digital cameras. He left on the bicycle. Loss is valued at $1,800.

The description is an unknown male, average build, wearing a hoodie and jacket, with something covering his face.

LEAD DETECTIVE: SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATIONS

Between 8:30 a.m. and noon on Sunday, Oct. 27, an unknown vehicle struck a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Radar Trailer parked on the south side of the road near 5300 E. 47th St. S. The trailer, parked approximately three feet off the road, was moved 100 feet and completely destroyed. Loss is estimated at several thousand dollars. It's possible the trailer was hit by a Toyota pick-up truck.

LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. TENNYSON, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, a man forced an opening in a chain link fence surrounding Body Coat Thermal Processing at 1618 S. Ida. Once inside the building he started a forklift. When workers investigated the noise they found him intentionally striking objects in the work area. The suspect saw the workers, headed the forklift at them and ran over one of the workers legs. He was last seen running west from the business. The victim was taken to the hospital with a compound fracture and other injuries.

The suspect is white or Hispanic, mid 20s, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds and bearded. He was wearing a dark shirt with cut-off sleeves and black jeans.
