At 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, two vehicles in the parking lot of the Catholic Care Center, 6550 E. 45th N., were broken into. The suspects, who arrived in a red four-door vehicle, broke the windows on two vehicles and took a purse from each. Less than an hour after the burglary they tired to use one of the credit cards at an ATM at a convenience store in south Wichita.

Shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, the Intrust bank branch at 3211 S. Seneca was robbed. A man passed the teller a note demanding money. He fled with the cash and drove off in a compact maroon vehicle. No weapons were seen; there were no injuries.

The suspect is a white male in his 30s or 40s, 5-foot-8 with a thin build, and a thin beard and goatee. He was wearing a dark-colored coat, a green hat with a New Orleans Saints logo and a pair of sunglasses on his hat.

LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. GIBBS, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Sometime between 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and 7:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, someone broke into the Clonmel Coop at 17500 W. 71st St. S. The thief entered through holes he cut holes in the chain link fence and then stole 238 gallons of unleaded fuel and 330 gallons of diesel. The damage and loss is valued at more than $4,000.

LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. CHISHOLM, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Wichita Police Department is asking for the public’s help to catch a killer. At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday. Sept., 22, a shooting occurred in the 100 block of North Mead in Old Town. Seven people were wounded. Kolby Hopkins, 25, was killed.

Police are especially interested in hearing from anyone that might have been a witness or heard anything about this homicide.
