LEAD: DET. GILL, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 96 Agri Sales at 10400 N. 247th St. W. was burglarized. Multiple locks were cut to gain entry to several trailers. Copper wire, an electric motor and a barrel of scrap wire were taken. Loss is valued at more than $57,000.

Between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, a residential storage building in the 9300 block of N. 135th W. was burglarized. The suspect took a box of collectible figurines, household appliances and miscellaneous electronics. An antique 1958 Ford truck also was taken. It had to be towed because it didn't run. The truck is green with some orange spots on it. Loss is valued at more than $11,000.

Sometime between the evening of Sunday, Aug. 11, and the morning of Monday, Aug. 12, Oatville Elementary School at 4335 S. Hoover was burglarized. A 50-inch flat screen television, 15 laptop computers, a DVR and three red wagons were taken. Value is estimated at more than $9,000.

LEAD: DET. DYE, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, a man with a crow bar attempted to pry open an ATM at Legacy Bank, 7555 W. 21st. He was unsuccessful, but the ATM suffered major damage. This man also is a suspect in multiple burglaries to other businesses, bars and liquor stores in Wichita. He is described as a white male with an average build and has a tattoo, possibly letters, across his upper chest. He was wearing a dark shirt, stocking cap and dark gloves.

LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. GIBBS, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

The south part of Sedgwick County has experienced an increase in criminal activity over the past two weeks. Specifically the area of near 91st St. South and Broadway has experienced several burglaries, suspicious characters, and trespassing calls all believed to be the same suspect. One of the burglaries occurred while the residents were home asleep. They were awakened by their dogs and confronted the suspect, who left on foot.

The suspect is a white male, mid to late teens, blonde hair, short, medium build, wearing a black hoodie, black shorts, black Adidas shoes, carrying two bags and a flashlight.
