Print
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is working on several cold cases and needs your help. This week we are profiling the case of an unidentified woman.

On April 29, 2011, Deputies responded to the area of 10000 S. 343rd St. W. after a citizen found a human skull in a creek bed. The skull has been examined by an anthropology expert and a forensic dentist. Those examinations suggest it is consistent with an African-American woman between the ages of 16 to 22. Estimated time of death is one to 10 years ago.

A search of the area where the skull was found also resulted in the discovery of a
femur bone fragment consistent with a woman of African-American descent.

The remains were sent to the FBI laboratory for additional testing and forensic reconstruction. The Sheriff’s Office received a photograph of the reconstruction and is asking for help to identify her.
