CRIME STOPPERS CASE 1808

FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 22, 2018

WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT CASE NUMBER: 18C011187

On February 20, 2018 at approximately 6:15am, a white male wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants, gloves and black ski mask walked up on foot and ordered food at the Sonic located on the corner of 135th and Maple Street. Once he received the food, he followed the employee back in the store and forced her to open the safe. The cook ran out the back door and called 911. The male retrieved the money from the safe and locked the employee in the freezer. He then left on foot to the West. An employee reported seeing the suspect walking around the area shortly before the incident.

There are three other robberies that occurred within the last several months that could possibly involve the same suspect; Taco Bell in the 2400 block of S. Seneca, 17C73352 which occurred on October 24, 2017, Sonic at 8600 block of W. Maple 17C76292 which occurred on November 5, 2017, and Jimmy Johns located near 21st and Maize Road 17C79648 which occurred on November 19, 2017.
