About 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, three men armed with handguns robbed the Family Dollar at 2201 E. Central. The suspects are pictured below. One man pointed his gun at an employee and demanded money. The three men then grabbed money from the registers and ran from the store. They got into a black or dark-grey two- or four-door car with a spoiler and damage to its rear. It was described as having a loud muffler and running badly.

They all are described as black men in their late teens or early 20s and armed with handguns:

Suspect #1: Wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a white Nike swoosh on the front, black pants, a white bandana on his face, approximately 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds.

Suspect #2: Thin build wearing a black short-sleeved shirt over a grey long- sleeved shirt, dark-colored jeans, a blue stocking cap, a black mask covering his face, approximately 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds.

Suspect #3: Wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, grey warm-up pants or sweatpants with a white stripe down the side of the leg, a grey bandana on his face, a red ball cap with a San Francisco 49ers logo on the front, approximately 6-foot tall and 180 pounds.

About 6:15 that same day the Family Dollar at 5120 E. 21st was robbed by three men. The clothing was different, but the physical descriptions were very similar to the suspects in the earlier robbery.
