FOR THE WEEK OF AUG. 14, 2016
DEPARTMENT CASE NUMBER: 15S007265
LEAD DETECTIVE: JON GILL, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT.
COLD CASE HOMICIDE

During the early morning hours of June 14, 2015, 23 year old Welly Syakhasone was shot multiple times at his residence located in the Oaklawn area of Sedgwick County. Welly did not survive his injuries. Investigators believe robbery to be a possible motive. Witnesses reported seeing three people walk up to the residence, run from the scene a short time later, and leave the area in a black Ford SUV; possibly a Ford Explorer or a Ford Expedition. It appears that the windows on the SUV were tinted. Surveillance video captured the possible suspect vehicle and it is pictured below.
