On Wednesday May 4, 2016, at around 9 pm, a male victim was walking his dog along the river bank in the 2700 block of South Topeka. The victim was approached by an unknown white male suspect who was sitting near some trees in the area. The suspect approached the victim and asked for a cigarette. When the victim told the male he did not have one, the male called the victim a “stupid faggot preacher” and he stabbed the victim in the abdomen. The male then left the area walking westbound along the river. The victim was treated at an area hospital for his injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s 5’10”, 150 pounds, with lighter short hair and fair skin. He is also described as being somewhat clean cut with a couple of days beard growth. The suspect was wearing a dark colored t-shirt, dark colored blue jeans, and a dark colored baseball cap that was worn backwards. He is also described as having a higher pitched voice.
