DEPARTMENT CASE NUMBER: 15S006140
LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. J. CRAFTON, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

On June 14, 2015 at approximately 02:15 hours, Aaron Matej’s vehicle was stuck in a ditch in the area of 700 N. 183rd West. Aaron walked to the intersection at 13th and 183rd W. and called his friends to help get his vehicle out of the ditch. When Aaron’s friends arrived, they found him lying in the roadway, appearing to have been struck by a vehicle. Based on observations by Investigators at the scene, it is possible that whoever hit Aaron was unaware they had run someone over.
