COLD CASE HOMICIDE

Around 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, Robert L. Newman, 73, was found dead in his house at 3501 W. 9th by his older brother who had come by to check on him. Mr. Newman, who was retired from Boeing, lived alone. He had been shot, and there were no signs of forced entry.

Mr. Newman's house was cluttered with items related to fixing small engines. He repaired lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc., primarily to keep busy and to have contact with other people. He operated a cash only business.

Mr. Newman was last known to have contact with someone between 9 and 10 p.m. the night before he was found. Some property was missing from the residence.
