LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. KENNEDY, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Danielle Zimmerman was in the drive-through lane of the Taco Bell at 3725 E. Harry about 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec., 29, when she was struck with a brain aneurism. Her 2008 Nissan Frontier crashed into the order box. The driver in a silver car in front of her got out and went to Mrs. Zimmerman's Frontier. As employees reached Mrs. Zimmerman to help her, the silver vehicle drove away. Police discovered that Mrs. Zimmerman’s purse and wedding ring had been taken. She did not survive.

On Monday, Dec. 30, the Wichita Fire Department recovered Mrs. Zimmerman’s purse from the canal near Mt. Vernon and I-135. Her credit cards, a checkbook, cash, an iPhone and her wedding ring are still missing.
